To update your software and install the latest version of Adobe’s Creative Cloud, follow the steps below: If you have not yet updated your Creative Cloud, you will see the following popup when using outdated applications. From Saturday 30 November 2019, any outdated applications will become inaccessible, unless you have already logged in to the new Creative Cloud. UQ’s licences for the old versions of Creative Cloud software will expire next month. The new version links to your staff login instead of your computer, and ensures that all staff can use the most up-to-date Creative Cloud software (such as InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro) going forward. At the bottom, click VIEW PREVIOUS VERSIONS (circled below).Earlier this year, UQ moved to the latest version of Adobe’s Creative Cloud. Click on the menu to the right showing All Apps. To downgrade to the previous version, scroll to the FIND ADDITIONAL APPS section of the Apps tab. (You can keep both the 20 version installed without problems.) You may need to roll back to the earlier version of the application. Occasionally, a new major version of your application-for example from the 2014 version to the 2015 version-may contain a bug which has a bad effect on your workflow. (2) If you’re cautious, you may want to check the Adobe Forums (link below) to see messages which might pertain to a major update. An update may negatively impact you, either because of a changed workflow or a possible problem. Here are two reasons why you might not want to update: (1) If you’re in the middle of an important project using that application, you should wait until you’ve finished the project. While it’s generally a good idea to keep up with application updates, it’s not necessary to install them immediately. You should think carefully before applying an update. On a Macintosh computer, for easiest access, drag the app’s icon to the Dock. You can launch the application by clicking the Open button in the App tab, or launching it from the Start menu (Windows) or Launchpad (Macintosh). Notifications are turned on by default (Preferences > Creative Cloud), and you’ll be prompted when the installation is complete. The application’s icon will appear in the installed list and a progress bar will indicate the progress of the download.

You’ll be asked for your administrative password to authorize the installation. When you click Install, the download process will begin immediately.
